Hmmmm. I'm betting cars will be basically the same. A little smaller and a lot more fuel efficient, but individualized transport is a long way off, and a lot of people won't be buying new cars at all this decade. Heck, our SF-LA bullet train won't even be half finished by 2020.

almost forgot... by 2020 almost all learning beyond age 15 will be largely online. Education will be more about the information and skills than simply about studying certain things for a test.
Online learning will be completely sub-mersive and such old fashioned terms like plagiarism will become obsolete.
I would not be so brave to predict the future of conflicts in Palestine or Ireland or Taiwan. Nor to predict where they will lead us.
The positive note however is that extremists at the top will be rationalised by the masses in the age when the internet gives the average person on the street a voice.
China will have to concede to free and fair speech.
China will dictate peace and security in the world.
The Eurpean Union will be properly formed.
The first five years of the EU will be very very turbulent, will seem like it will never happen, but it will because it is the right thing to do and spreads wealth.
In 2020 Cars will be completely different.
I'm guessing individualised transport.
Flats will become much more common.
Sorry this was a bit of a rant.

The 3D thing will only last a few years before people just decide to go all out Virtual reality, like in Lawnmower man. Didn't take off in the 90's because the concept was ahead of the technology. Technology is ready now to ready to re-address this and people are more comfortable with technology.
I think it would be amazing to get home in the evening and just wear the internet!
Surprised this has escaped the future of the internet pundits. But you would only do this if you lived alone so perhaps it is a specialist market for enthusiasts.
Laptops are gonna start looking old-fashioned

Me again,
Sorry, I meant augmented movies in 3D will become so popular that custom fit 3D glasses will be available.

My two cents,

I think augmented reality in the form of 3D movies will grow in popularity giving rise to optical stores not only providing regular eye ware but custom fit 3D glasses.

Also, I think Buddhism will rival Christianity and Islam particularly in North America.
